Vetmo helps Chinese veterinarians relieve stress and improve mental wellness. This mental health app UXUI project aims to assist veterinarians in living a better healthier lifestyle. It provides features including daily task management, empowered professional knowledge
Background
Veterinary professionals face significant mental health challenges, with two-thirds reporting concerns such as depression, burnout, panic attacks, anxiety, or compassion fatigue. Some data suggest the suicide rate among veterinarians is increasing, with an estimated one in 10 veterinarians experiencing severe psychological distress due to untreated mental illness.
The demanding nature of large animal farm practice, characterized by high physical workloads, adds to the psychological stress experienced by veterinarians. Work schedules, financial issues, client demands and expectations and ethical dilemmas related to treatment options contribute to the mental health burden on veterinarians according to Pohl et al. Chinese Veterinary Journal.
Finding the problem
In order to understand what Chinese veterinarian needs to maintain healthy mental wellness, I conducted quantitative surveying using Tencent Forms to collect accurate data about what causes depression and anxiety.
